MACC & The One Love Century!
THE METRO ATLANTA CYCLING CLUB (MACC) began in the mid 80’s out of the now-defunct Yellow Jersey Bicycle Shop in South Dekalb. It started with approximately 15 members and currently has a combination of over 100 active and alumni members. The club consists of a wide range of riders of various ages, backgrounds, and professions, who all have a common enthusiasm and love for cycling.
Since the beginning, MACC’s mission was to promote cycling in the black community and build camaraderie amongst all cyclists. As the club grew a secondary mission evolved to support cycling amongst local youth with the belief that cycling would help promote a healthier lifestyle and psychological well-being. In 2006 MACC established the One Love Century to not only host a premiere century ride but to financially support its secondary mission. Proceeds from the One Love Century provides financial support to our several beneficiaries so they may continue to build and sustain youth cycling opportunities in metro Atlanta.

THE ONE LOVE CENTURY is more than just another century ride, it is ‘the best value’ you can find for a charity ride anywhere! Proceeds from the event help support the BRAG Dream Team, East Atlanta Kids Club, and the DLV Youth Cycling League. We have also contributed to the local cycling scene through WeCycle Atlanta, an organization helping to get the community more active through volunteerism and cycling as well as Bearings Bike Shop and Urban Creek Conservation and Recreation Corps
The One Love Century is one of the most loved bicycle events in the Southeast, attracting more than 1,300 riders on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekends, since 2006. It traverses the roads of South Fulton County, in an area known to locals as Silk Sheets, taking riders on rural roads through horse farms, state parks, and small towns. Expect mostly rolling hills, with only a couple of tough ones thrown in.
A big part of Metro Atlanta’s best charity ride is our enthusiastic volunteers at our rest stops along the One Love Century route. Let us park your bike as you enjoy healthy sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, energy bars as you refill your bottles with water or sports drinks. We are there to provide mechanical assistance should you need it and provide the support you need to enhance your One Love Century experience.
The One Love Century is definitely the best Bang for Your Bicycling Buck – we can’t wait to see you!
