2022 One Love Century Report

Thanks to all of you the 2022 One Love Century weekend was bigger and better than ever, a huge success! We continue to grow because of the energy and enthusiasm you bring. MACC welcomed over 1800 riders from all around the world including the US Virgin Islands, St. Croix, Kenya and the United Kingdom. We saw your good energy early on social media as you packed those beautiful bikes, fancy kits and traveled to Atlanta for a weekend of riding and comradery.

Reminiscent of a college homecoming, you greeted old friends and made new ones at the Cochran Mill Brewery for the “Thirsty Thursday Tango”. The energy was off the charts as you crushed a spirited ride around the city of Fairburn, returning to sample Cochran Mill’s ‘One Love Hoppy Wheat’ and party into the night. The good times flowed into the next day as hundreds more of you attended “MACC’s Friday Fish Fry Ride”, sponsored by SRAM. Major Taylor Clubs and others showed up stronger than ever, looking good with custom trailers and tents for what was to be a full day of riding and fellowship.

The One Love attracts a diverse group of cyclists, from the beginner who is unsure of what to expect to our veterans that return each year. This year, we had more cyclists on the 27 and 44 mile routes than ever before. We also grew into a new location that presented challenges but our army of volunteers found solutions to every problem. They graciously stepped up wherever needed and made sure the OLC ran smoothly. Preparing food, valet parking bicycles, working Rest Stops, directing traffic and cyclists and driving SAG vehicles are just a few of the jobs our volunteers performed throughout the day. We have exceptional volunteers and cannot thank them enough!!

Like every year the One Love’s energy on Saturday morning was electric and you still had energy to pack the SRAM sponsored party Saturday night. We appreciate SRAM & all they have done to support MACC and the One Love!  Day 4, time for the “Recovery Ride” and you showed up strong on Rt. 29! We saw you, bringing all the fire! Lastly, thanks to those that attended “The Real Recovery Ride” in Social Circle on Monday. There was no better way to wrap up a solid weekend of riding and socializing.

Lastly, MACC needs to give a special shout out to the city of South Fulton and Councilman Corey Reeves for their support and love.

We look forward to seeing you in 2023! From the MACC family to all of you…. One Love!!
